This was a very sentimental layout for me. There are not many photos of my husband and our eldest together in more recent times, so we cherish those we have when she was little.

I don't do a lot of handwritten journaling, even though I know I should, so decided this was the right page to do so. The ruled section of the Defining my Dad- Carolee's paper made ideal journaling strips. The remainder I used for Fathers Day cards.

I paired it with the red Tribute to Dad paper (after cutting off the phrase about first hero) on a black cardstock background and used Green Tea cardstock to lighten the look of the page and co-ordinate with the Carolee's stickers.

I painted the chipboard letters & brackets white and used some green & black brads to carry each thought across to the next page.

The Heidi Swapp black clips draw your eye to each journaling strip as well as holding them in place.

The journaling reads:

I love my Dad
not because - he lets me walk all over him, but because he holds me tight.
not because - I make him smile, but because he makes me laugh.
not because - he lifts me high, but because I know he will always be there to catch me.
